What is Innovation Space?
Innovation space is a multidisciplinary studio focused on teaching students how to develop a product with market value, that can serve society positively while minimizing the impact of waste on the environment.
Each year two companies sponsor innovation space and provide problem statements for the teams to solve. Together an industrial designer, a graphic designer, an engineer, and a business student collaborate for 2 semesters (1 year) to develop a product from concept to functioning prototype.

As a team, we voted on a name to represent ourselves and our goals for this semester the name we chose was Ovid. Ovid is the name of the Roman poet Publius Ovidius Naso, author of the epic poem Metamorphoses. Also an influencer of authors such as Dante, Chaucer, and Shakespeare. Ovid the short form of Ovidius embodies change, biomimicry and a sense of permanence. Organic and simple.
Johnson and Johnson poised two problems with the overall goal being achieving healthy barrier function.
1. Protect the skin from virus-carrying insect bites.
2. Restore and protect the skin on the body, inside of the mouth and other mucosal barriers.

In our presentation, we pitched our three concepts in the form of three posters to a panel of professionals as well as our sponsors. We received feedback and will continue with one of the concepts in January of 2018.
